Hal Linden Bio
Hal Linden was born March 20, 1931, in New York City, Bronx-born Hal Linden is a well known American stage and television actor as well as its director. His roles include the comedy series “Barney Miller” and a reckoned presenter on ABC educational series concerning animals, Animals. His career began way back as a simple clarinetist and dance band singer during his teen age of fifteen years with the New York American Symphony. This was facilitated most by his brother Bernie who aided him in choosing stage names. This was after he spotted a gas storage tank in Linden, New Jersey printed with large letters. In addition, he played dance bands which prompted him to join Sammy Kaye for tours. This dance tours made him to be drawn into the army where he specialized in singing and entertaining the army troops. With the experience gained in the army, his interest for acting was adverse and he requested for a discharge which upon receiving it, he directly enrolled at the New York’s American Theatre Wing where he underwent immense training in both voice and drama.

Hal Linden Early Years
Hal Linden’s parents, Charles Lipshitz and Frances Rosen brought him up in a humble way. He is succeeded with a brother Bernie who became a future professor in the music venture at Bowling Green University in Ohio. Hal Linden graduated from Manhattan’s School of Performing Arts. After graduation, Linden studied music at Queens College where he later on moved to the City College to advance business aspects. He has been associated for a long time with the March of Dimes as a national chairman for several years. More so back in 1982, he was offered a role in “St Elsewhere” which he turned down. Hal Linden was nominated for many Emmys due to the greatness of his work on “Barney Miller” back in the year 1975. However, the Emmy’s that Hal Linden won were used to host series of daytime information sports known as “FYI”.
Hal Linden’s Broadway show was in “Bells are ringing” where his role was to understudy the lead role of Sydney Chaplin which was the termed to be his first. He accrued many musical credits e.g. in “On a clear day you can see forever,” “Subways are for sleeping,” “The apple tree” as well as “The pajama game,” back in the year 1960’s. His immense ambitions led him to win a Tony award in 1971 for a role he played in “The Rothschilds.” His name Hal became a household name due to the Emmy-nominations which were aired every year from its programmatic state. In 1986 and 1992, he appeared in lesser TV series that involved “Blacke’s Magic” and “Jackie’s place” respectively. In addition, in 1988 and 1997, his secondary presence was held in films as “A new life” and “Out to sea” consecutively.
Hal Linden Love Life
Hal Linden’s love life is simple where he met Frances Martin (a dancer) in the year 1955. After three years of courtship, they got married. In addition, at their wedding, she surprised him with a reading understudy of Jeffrey Moss. This was a musical “Bells are ringing” on the Broadway. Frances quit her career to set full concentration on raising her family.
